The seventh item in the Trofika Records catalog, is an album titled Purrppl – Sun Diet. The artist responsible for this material is Filip Macioszek, also previously known for his publications as UniversalHuman. He has published for such labels as, based in England and run by Thomas Guiddo and Moussa Clarke – Fine Coincidence, American (San Francisco/New York) – MDEX, and his native Otake, among others. Filip, although born in Poland, has lived in China for many years, where he creates on a daily basis and also performs as a DJ in top clubs in cities such as Changsha, Beijing, Nanjing, Yangshuo, Kunming and Wuhan. Exposure to Asian culture in large, almost futuristic agglomerations undoubtedly also makes its mark on the character of his compositions. Intense, dirty, at times almost overwhelming and arrhythmic constructions, are mixed here with analog warmth, pulsating energy and subtle atmospheres. This eclectic fusion of techno, abstract, lo-fi, deep house and dub, results in electrifying yet sophisticated electronics of the highest level.
The author of the unique artwork used for the cover is Kamil Czapiga, hiding under the pseudonym @Cosmodernism, who creates his cosmic worlds by taking macro-scale photographs of various chemical substances using a microscope. The icing on the cake of this very interesting release are two remixes. An intriguing and penetrating cyberdub from AKME @fishatnight , and a perverse hause’o/hiphop from @Mesbrutah.
